Sam's Christmas is a long-standing tradition whose sole goal is to provide local disadvantaged families with a Christmas to remember. In 2010, we successfully realized our vision of giving twenty Winnipeg families hot turkey dinners and desserts, blankets, personalized gifts, perishable and non-perishable food hampers, desktop computers, diapers and new outdoor winter clothing, among other items.
Thanks to our Sam’s Christmas 2010 supporters, we provided 65 incredible children and their parents with an unforgettable Christmas. The experience of delivering the hampers was an emotional one for many of our Project Echo volunteers. The children laughed and excitedly unwrapped their presents from Santa and the parents stood and cried tears of joy as Project Echo volunteers carried in box after box of items for each of the 20 young families. It was evident to all that we had made a life changing difference.
In 2011, we drastically increased the number of families who received support in to 104. For several months, the Project Echo team worked with hundreds of volunteers to receive and organize countless donations from individuals and companies all over Winnipeg. Sam's Christmas 2012 will be upon us before we know it, and you can bet that it will be our biggest drive yet. Project Echo will be increasing our commitment to 250 Winnipeg families. Almost 1000 Winnipeggers will benefit from your generosity. It is never too early to start preparing YOUR contribution.
